The back length of the SL is specific to women: on average, women have shorter backs than men. Therefore, the carrying system of the SL model is somewhat shorter than that of standard Deuter backpacks. Additionally, the carrying system is specially adapted to the female anatomy.

Designed for alpine applications, the dorsal system combines durability and functionality optimally. Perfectly adapted to the anatomy, its two Softstripes cushions flexibly conform to the shape of the back with every movement. The load is always close to the center of gravity. This allows, with total backpack control, to focus on the action in difficult terrain. The system combines a firm and secure position with excellent carrying comfort and pleasant ventilation between the two Softstripes back cushions.
