ALTRA'S HISTORY
The American brand Altra was born from the bold vision of two young athletes, Jeremy Howlett and Golden Harper. They began by identifying the technical flaws and technological gaps in existing models, making subtle modifications with a single goal in mind: to create shoes that deliver maximum comfort and consistent performance.
Among the issues they highlighted were the limiting elevation of traditional drop and the restrictive narrowness of the toe box. This led them to design models featuring an ultra-low drop and a wider toe box, preventing the toes from being uncomfortably compressed. The now-trademarked Zero Drop concept eliminates the height difference between the front and back of the shoe—a design that may look unusual at first, but ultimately offers absolute comfort.
